This $74 million expansion project is projected to create over 350 construction jobs over the next 20 months as they build a 150-room hotel, relocate the Mohawk Bingo Palace and Class II gaming facilities to the Akwesasne Mohawk Casino and add other amenities to their services. The existing Casino had been experiencing a high failure rate with their standard heat pumps after only 7 years in operation. The construction managers along with Council representatives felt that the CGC system would result in less maintenance issues since the refrigeration components only operate in cooling mode. Furthermore, an energy costs analysis revealed the Hybrid System provided very significant energy costs saving utilizing fuel switching, FreeHeat, and higher EER in the cooling mode.
